Wow, very nice hats and pics. A nod to Jeff's still life. For me, it conjurs up the mental image of the studious musican preparing his music for a soon to be concert.

This morning a bit wamer weather found the dogs and I enjoying a walk lake side. I grabbed a hat pic against one of the big rock retaining walls.

Some days I select the hat by the ribbon details. Other days by the color shade of felt. Today, my VS bluesmoke - just because.

I stubbornly am starting to think that my brown ribbon, on my black custom, does not compliment the overall look.

Monte, I kinda like that combo, actually. It might depend on your shoes, though. If that's a grey suit, black shoes are the common pick, but you might be able to pull it off with dark brown shoes, a good match to your ribbon. If the ribbon is black or brown, then I try to match it to my shoes. If it's any other color, then it has a lot of latitude with either.

Overall, I like that ribbon style. It gives it a unique character. If it were my hat and I wanted to change it I would probably stay dark and choose a black cherry ribbon, just to give it enough contrast, but nothing too stark.

Nice treatment on your Borso, btw. You have good ideas on customizing, for sure. I wore the tan Stratton Jacksonian today. Probably going to a brown treatment on this hat--possibly robbed from my black custom. Sometimes I stop at reshaping and don't think of really customizing the ribbon, much less the binding. Cool ideas bounced around on my hat. Thanks.
