(Hatted in my VS Whippet inspired dark moss fedora.)
I'm leaning toward the dark moss for my first VS, too, and I'd been considering Whippet or Strat as an inspiration. Great looking hat!

my good lord, there were some wonderful hats today.

CaramelSmoothie, that's a really pretty cloche. It almost looks like montecristi straw. Cheers to your getting some warm weather to wear it in!

Thanks for the comments from yesterday... Randall, I will surely post a link to the likely-to-be-edited-out-of-context -3 -minute- interview, pending a preliminary screening... :) It may well be very cheeseball and contrived.

Alan, they didn't ask me to remove the hat, but I had already done so, being indoors in a rehearsal room. Oh, well. [huh]
Great black hat yesterday, too! And gosh-- can't forget that heavenly Churchill!

CS - I hope you find the missing hat. I have a similar problem with my one and only pair of cowboy boots. We've moved a lot over the years and I lost them at some point. Very annoying. I like the cloche in your photo today - wouldn't mind a little of that warm weather as well!

Robert - the CD looks good with the shorter brim.

Strat for me today,
Way to wear the TARs TPD and Dave!

Thank you Hatto. I like the colour of your Strat today.

Lovely hat music from the various Strats!

David, that color is to dye for. Is that your early 40s Stratoliner?

Yes, Alan - that's the one. Love the Churchill you were wearing today.

Tom - great CD, my favorite Campdraft colour.

David, very nice and good color for that. But your Strat looks a bit out of shape, could that be!

Manfred - you're right, the brim in particular is a little out of control at the moment :)

Tom B - not often we see a thin ribbon with a brim that narrow. Reminds me of a Borsalino I recently sold.

Eric - can't beat a good diner, especially if wearing a great Dark Moss VS!

Jeff - very cool OR for TAR Tuesday

Memphis Legal Dude - I agree with Dan, a bigger brim would suit you better; of course you already know that :)

WineGuy - the Monte looks great.

Sam - great look with the CD

Lauro - very cool look with the Strat.

Thank you all for the compliments. I will be looking for that hat this weekend. I have so many hats that it's getting harder to keep track of them all. I plan to wear one of my vintage hats next week so I will be posting another picture then. Here is a 1920s cloche I wore at Governor's Island, I can't wait until Spring to wear it again. I think I posted this on the FL before but not sure.

Thank You, My Friends!

Good to see you again, Al! Once again, thanks for the blast of colors and shadows, a feast for the eyes.

Many thanks for the warm welcome back, Randall. The past three weeks or so have been crazy busy at work, and my free time has been consumed with working with Ryan and his friends in the initial production and filming of their movie sequel. Hence my unintended absence. Took tons of photos, however, and will post them to FEDORAS AFIELD soon.

+1... great photos as always. Welcome back. It never ceases to amaze me the hat riches that wash up on the beaches you comb. I thought the Mississippi emptied to the south.

You are too kind, Alan. I am blessed to have such beautiful beaches to comb. More hats wash up on these shores than the elusive Lake Superior Agate! I have both ends of the Mississippi covered;), having lived for three years in New Orleans, and nearly twenty now near the wellspring of the Mississippi here in Minnesota.

Your 100 is grand!

Geez, that was great! Like a short movie complete with popcorn and free admission! Thanks! Great pictures!

Thank you! Stay tuned for more features coming soon to a thread near you! :pop2:

Al, marvelous! Your antique shops trips are full of little treasures. What for nice hats, especially the brown St Regis! Wow!
Your trip was successful! Ryan digs the Homburger, It looks so! Fascinating photos as always my friend!

Appreciate your kind words, my friend! Ryan beat me to the Homburg, while I was momentarily distracted by Lydia showing something she had found. He is justifiably quite fond of it.

Great, great hats all around today, everyone! :eusa_clap

Hmm, I failed to flip back one more page and I missed your photos, Al.

Great stuff, as Alan says you find some nice hats on your searches and it is always a pleasure to accompany you on your adventures.

The first time my niece and I have seen each other in almost 30 years. This is after a lovely dinner and conversation at Monti's in downtown Tempe, AZ. Last time I saw her she was about 8 years old, now she has an 8 year old. I am wearing my Adam Deluxe courtesy of Landman.

No worries, my friend! Your amazing, 'Manfredian' consistency in your daily posts is surpassed only by your incredible lids. Always a pleasure to have you ride along, to paraphrase Alan, "on the brim of my hat".
