I had a Borsalino "piuma" hat on this morning but it blew off my head--gusty and humid. No major damage.

Nice Milan, Josh. The ribbon seems to be hiking up a bit from the brim brake. Might need a tiny stitch to hold it in place. ;)
Piuma, I bet it flew just like one, huh Robert? Glad to hear it didn't get damaged.

Boy howdy it is 75'F here. That is WAY hot after winter and a cool spring. My dogs kept stopping for quick dips in the water during the walk. We all need time to adjust to the new season.

Here is a pic that I took on our morning walk around the lake. The water plume coming out of panama bob's hat is really coming out of the water near the public dock.

Best wishes a warm Eric -

Josh, wonderful Hat. Good rebuild. The Summer Hat 2012.

Josh, Fantastic Milan. Really like the block and bow work!

Thanks so much, Gentlemen!!

Ale, believe it or not, the ribbon hasn't moved. What happened is the brim break has actually sunk. I've noticed on many vintage milans, that even when they are freshly flanged, over time the brim actually sinks under its own weight. When I set the hat on a table, and push down, the break returns to normal, but when I release, it pops up again. I have to re-steam/iron the brim to re-set the break.

I see what you mean. Ironing should help. Very nice Milan, Josh.

Great hat! It would be perfect for memphis in may.

Josh, I love seeing your hat transformations. Milan brims to seem prone to drooping but no worries, they have medication for that.

Some lovely hats today, with a special :eusa_clap for David's 7XCB. There are many wonderful things about a 1950s 7X... one that shows well in today's photo is the beautiful brim flange - elegant, aerodynamic, just the right amount of stiffness. Glad you found such a nice one, David.

Chose an old black Stetson today. Fray sweatband and frayed ribbon bow (2 sides)... makes me feel a little less rough around the edges.

Best birthday card ever... and I've seen a few. (Note the birthday boy buried beneath the bounty).
