Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I've got a bunch of hats so far, (was guessing around 17 yesterday when someone asked me) I'm just finally getting around to posting some. I just got a new maroon straw delivered from hatsinthebelfry, but I need to send it back for another size.

Today is an old Borsalino with a raw edge. I don't know much about it, the liner was torn out long ago, the and sweatband really needs replaced, but it ends up being a fairly lightweight hat that I can wear occasionally in warmer weather. It must be a fairly old specimen, since it has a button and string for windy days.

Nice looking Borso. As you'll find when reading the Borsalino Brotherhood and other threads on the FL, older Borsos are challenging to date reliably. The wind cord is not much of a help - it remains a feature on many of their models today.

Alan is right. I consider one of my 2 Borso's modern even though I bought over 22 years ago. It has a wind trolley.
Post some photos of the liner & sweatband which will help. Sometimes, stickers behind the sweat help date it too...
