* Does this Optimo/Telescope style have a name? If I've missed something please feel free to give me a education. Or shall we just coin the term? We are the experts, after all. Plus, it's my hat and I say it's an Optiscope. :D

Where did you get this hat???? I've been looking for one.

billyspew, this hat, the picture background and framing, and your expression adds a kind of Baz Luhrman Moulin Rouge/absinthe-soaked look to the whole thing...

That was taken with an iPhone camera app called Hipstamatic that mimics the look of old point-and-click cameras.

CRH, what a beautiful hat. It looks terrific on you Sir. Reminds me of some cocoa milan(s) on this thread from last summer that some gent(s) had. Ah, the hats of summer!

Joshbru, this 1950s stingy Borsalino looks great on you!

Going to my grandmothers house for dinner tonight. I switched to my 1950's Borsalino Pesca Thirty Alessandria Extra Superiore. The felt is extreamly soft and the crown took shape without any steam. Vintage Borsalinos are really top notch.

I wouldn't know about absinthe myself, but it was a pretty wild ride of a movie with a definite look to it. The pics that the friend sent me were done with a sepia finish.

Hat Lingerie shot... I love it!

It sure is more fun here than in the Powder Room! Thanks for all the fun talking back and forth and all these great hat pics, Gents. I'm learning a lot about hats again already, and having a ball.

Yeah, dangerous... it might get those lingerie pics ceremoniously yanked, as mine did!

Actually, I think you nailed it -- that is a perfect description for the feel of the shot that billyspew posted...:eusa_clap Well, that, and the organ-grinder/monkey thing that suitedcboy mentioned...:D

Yep. Darn, what I'm missing out by having a very low tech phone with no apps. I think there probably was an organ grinder's monkey in Moulin Rouge too...seemed like that film had a bit of everything in it. Not what I expected with being a fan of BL's Strictly Ballroom.
