Still cool and cloudy here so this late '50s Dobbs Caronia does coffee in the yard.

Dressed for the 90+ degree day and I think I'll be going to the Sunfari for my bike ride.

Question: I've noticed that some Whippets aren't marked as such in the liner, only in the sweatband, and viceversa...
Is this a way to trace their age?

Sent from my LG-H870 using Tapatalk

I think the ones with sweat markings are older than the others. However, you still have to use the same tricks to date them as other Stetsons, logos, size tags, etc.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

That is one sharp, crisp looking milan D, I just love that color and ribbon.

Handsome hat, Red. Great ribbon and brim binding.

Great colors on that one Red. Very nice looking hat.
Michael

Thanks guys, I think this will be a regular during the cooler weather. Still a little on the stiff side, but as with most of my NW Hats, they break in just fine. Still trying to get my head around the Granite color and what to wear with it.

Manly-Man ribbon on this Dobbs. I guess during this period is society, "more is better" applied to hat ribbons. Love it!

I have bookmarked all of the various Stetson Dating Threads here on the lounge (there are many, choose well Grasshopper) for easy reference. Seems like you always need them handy...

Damn I like that liner on that Stetson! You look very sharp. Hell, I'd date you... have some fun.

Apologies in advance as I am going to post a cap wearing picture in this post. I just had delivered this afternoon a long awaited custom cap from Australia and wanted to share.

New cap day! Introducing my new cap the Excaliber from Well Dressed Head, Keith Lo Bue. I am absolutely thrilled after examining and touring the cap around the yard the past hour. Dang what a cap!

I hope my pics captured the quality of craftsmanship and detailed artisan touches. I advocate my attention to detail as an asset (especially to my wife and close friends/family) and this cap has my tipping the cap brim in acknowledgement of attention to detail in spades.

The vintage work wear wool and vntage Japanese kimono cotton materials are exquisite.

I tip the cap brim and a glass of local brewed beer (Omni Dirty Hippy) towards Keith Lo Bue in Australia this late afternoon. THANKS sir!

Thanks for letting me "bend" the posting rules this late afternoon. I am truly excited with the arrival of this Australian cap.

On with the marvelous hat parade.

Best, Eric -

Out this mornng in a new black-and-white Five Points cotton and silk blend cap. The Well Dressed Head acquired the material from a famous silk textile concern in Bangkok. It has texture and a softness that is very unique. I took pics yesterday that I am sharing.

Wow, another nice one, Eric. Great fabric and great shape. Love how the brim and peak curve so strongly in opposite directions!

Greetings All:
Getting ready to go visit my Grandbaby Willow. The way i been feeling lately i figure i outta start wearing my best!
Not bad for about a 100 year old hat.
Made by Berteil Paris. Pretty blue.
Hint...G. Borsalino started sweeping floors there, worked his way up to Master Hatter then started making his own. He learned well!
B
Ps: if the lights good over there maybe i’ll take some more pics if she lets me. Ha

It mortifies me to know you're not feeling well, Bowen. No wonder you've been kinda quiet.
I will call you tonight or tomorrow...
