Yesterday and tomorrow have been on my mind and so for today i thought i’d offer something special as a token. I’ve never worn this hat and to me it is also a special crown.
A vintage pristine Stetson 7x Clear Beaver Last Drop embroidered liner. To me this is a fine hat worthy of the days.
Be well and Blessed. Bowen

I say this with pointed intensity: That is a very nice hat.

Off for Easter errands this morning. Kind of cool, getting better this afternoon. Slim Brim Day! Penn Craft made under license in England by Failsworth. This is an early 60s example of trends in hat making. Short hair finish that makes it shine. For some reason, this is my only hat with a feather. Embrace the Stingy!

Mine too is a Failsworth, but had you not said, I would have guessed that your's was more than likely one from Laird of London, where Frank Sinatra reputedly bought his famous trilby's from. Or so our newspapers would have you believe, so it must be true.

Modest success at an estate sale today. Dobbs Hanover Square (needs a bath), mystery Milan, and mystery pork pie. Frunoliner sits on top (backwards, I realized after I took the pic).

Have you ever heard of the late British comedian: Tommy Cooper?

Now that's a fine hat! Great Jacket too.
True,true.

This afternoon we attended a memorial service for a church member. Perfect opportunity for the new Stetson Homburg in the 1960s version of a vita-felt finish. I am definitely liking it, very light weight and smooth finish. I will probably wear this one often.

I dig it Mike. Sorry for the sad circumstances.

Good morning. Up before the sun rose to snowblow the walks and driveways. A vtg. Stetson Bantam was my hat of choice. The oldster went inside on a block to dry and I finished up in a different vtg. Stetson Bantam.

A bit more than a decade apart in age. They both have the same in the hand felt feel. Soft malleable. Almost feels floppy in the gusty snowy winds this morning. The bigger brim was something I was enjoying. Amazing how a 2 7/8" brim gives more protextion than those small 2.5" brims. ;) No difference felt this morning in regards to insulation between the lined or unlined. The more simple sweat of the oldster is more comfortable, but only my a smidgeon. Grand hats for a snowy morning in Minnesota.

Snow!

Best, Eric -
They are indeed both grand hats Eric

I really like this one Bowen. The condition is superb. I assume it is not an OR? I'm not up on these, still looking for the right one. This one is a fine example.

Thanks Mike!
I think the crease makes it an Optimo only if it's an open crown. I've seen remnants of center creases on other styles of straws. I think sometimes it's added as a style element, sometimes from a hat that rolls up. My Parabuntal has one from the original packing that I've never been able to get out.
I like it, I have an old Cavanagh straw with the same feature.
