Thanks all for the kind words and likes of late.
Today it’s the “Total Mystery Black”. Unknown manufacture and i’ve not been able to identify the sweatband crest. It’s almost identical to a Boss Raw Edge in every way and is very old. Any info would be appreciated. It’s a Mystery to me.
Be well. Bowen
Can't help you identify it, but it is a beautiful hat, Bowen. Love that brim curl.

R. Hecht Leipzig probably 1930s and a recent arrival. This Wool Stiff Felt has no company mark but most likely one of the large scale German Hat Companies that were located in Eastern Germany that produced both Wool and Fur Felt hats but didn't survive WWII.

Heading out for the evening under a MacLachlan.

Mr. Bowers identified it for @rclark who later sent it to me. And if you peruse the MacLachlan thread, you will see the same size tag show up in one of the other models.

The felt on the MacLachlan made Stack trilby I just got is thicker, but the feel of the finish is very, very similar.

Happy Friday night all!

Heading out under Brig. Gen. Waters' Superfine Knox.

I can't help but wonder what sort of tie dye jackets he wore when, during his tenure as warden, he was reading aloud the death warrants of the condemned at the Oklahoma state pen's death house. Perhaps I'm on the wrong track there, though...

Did just find out that he had a law degree. That's kind of neat.

Have a superduper and satisfying Saturday.

Was out on a big hathunting spree yesterday, but hardly any luck I'm afraid. Did it under my King Felton, seen here behind the reward I gave myself anyway.

Today was time for a more spring-suitable hat; Knox Westlite (refurbished by Mike Miller).

The King Felton is a nice looking hat. I used to live on Lord Felton Lane here in Virginia Beach. I wonder if the King and the Lord are related. Or if King Felton makes a Lord's hat.

The Westlite is marvelous. The ribbon color... exceptional.

Mike, Matt, thank you. I posted the King Felton provenance before on the lounge. In short the brand originates from Scandinavia, but the maker was an immigrant to the US. He went back to his homecountry after the death of his wife and started the hat-business there. There may well be a connection between Lord Felton and King felton, but I haven't been able to find any more info.
the Westlite is really good and Mike absolutely did a great job on the ribbon.
