Pictures of reorder tag and size stamp on sweatband for Bradford
Reorder tag, quality of sweatband and stitched liner all make me think this is a ‘50s hat

I've had this headstall on my eBay watch list for years. I have a hatband by the same artist. We actually have a city stable quite close to where I live. I'm about 400 miles from Brooklyn but I grew up in the city. I still shy away from anything larger than a German Shepard.
I think I used to have something saved , maybe eBay (I can't remember) , from the man and woman that taught or teach Hitching Horse Hair in the Montana Prison . Awesome Horse Hair stuff .
You see, what do I know. I see Buffalo and write Brooklyn. When I see someone in the fine westerns that you've been wearing, I get all confused that those hats are in NY state. To an old country boy like me, it's all the same. Kind of like "city stables" is an oxymoron in my world.
I'm a little familiar with some of the Roanhorse work. Beautiful. Were you to some day end up with that headstall, let me know, I'll find you a horse to put it on.

One of (the many) things that fascinates me about the old western hats is the sweatband imprint of the retail store where they were sold. So many were named for Jewish immigrants who migrated to far off western towns to do what they new how to do from the old country - sell clothing. Some day when I have less to do and I can devote more time to my hats (my wife is rolling her eyes) I will do some reading on the stories behind these western stores and the folks who started them. Maybe I'll look for that horse then too. They are beautiful animals.
I thought you lived in Buffalo . Thanks for that link Alan , $12K is a little pricy .
Thanks Richard. It seems that the Gun Club model went through many many variations over the years. This shape is probably one of my favorites though. That's an unusual Gun Club Michael, I like that curled brim with the shape of the crown.
Thank you.Yes Sir! Beautiful Joao!!
Oh... not another one...Another old furry Stetson western hat made from nutria fur, this one from under the Tucson sun...
Manfred's his real name but do you remember his avatar name? It's driving me nuts trying to think of it. I thought I had it a couple of times but I lose it as quick as it comes to me.Manfred aus Deutschland!
Looks great. I really like the color combination
Looking good Justin. Another fine wider ribbon.
This hat makes me drool.

There are quite a few stories of Jewish Cowboys and the western migration of Jews. Seth Bullock, a famous western lawman who traveled to Deadwood SD during the gold rush to open a hardware store, had a Jewish partner by the name of Sol (Solomon) Star.
