Yesterday (Saturday) a two hat day.
First I started custom with Mackey Hatters.

After lunch I went to Tagus river south bank, to the Cristo Rei monument. Time and weather were not the best to go up there.

The feather and pin make it a totally different hat, Mike. The finish is lovely.

This Penn Craft will be a go-to stingy because of it's finish. I just feels good to grab and toss on for a quick trip. I might look for a more orange and black feather (colors of my Alma Mater) at some point.

The D'orsay curl is one of my favorite things in all of hatdom. And the subtle variations from hat to hat are simply wonderful.

The elegant art deco look of the form makes it one of my favorites with which to mess around in photo shop. Just for self-indulgent giggles, here's this one from a couple of years ago (along with the original of the photo that provided the background).

It took me a while to figure out that "leg" in your comment was likely an autocorrect mess-up of "lake". I spent a couple minutes racking my brain to figure out if a "leg" was a part of a hat that I had never heard of or forgotten.

Very nice, Matt. I've noticed before that the bowler was the go-to hat for a great many people in the past. The image has a nice Magritte-like quality to it.

That is a serious bunny there, Michael. Usually they are more well-coiffured so to speak. Extra fluffiness is good for the cold weather though.

It was only a short walk, Mike. I still feel a bit self-conscious wearing one I admit.

The cold weather called for a longhair today. The choice fell on the Vornehm, which has a finish a bit between a velour and a longhair to be honest.

I also post a "P.S." shot, just because. Yesterday, the boy and I went out to the Great Dismissal Swamp for some fun. Lake Drummond is one of only two natural lakes in Virginia. It was as still as glass.

The derby comes to us from the mid- to late- 1930s. Brad Bowers dated it for the cat who sold it to me a couple of years ago.

In keeping with the Derby Bowl 2018 theme today, I submit a 1930s Mallory with the 1823 date in the logo. Had to go out for some more game day supplies, so popped on this old derby. Because, sunshine!
