First, I'm sorry for not responding to the nice comments for the last couple of days, and of not commenting on the fine headwear on display by all. I've been bedeviled by a persistent headache that has come on about mid morning. So thanks all, and great hats all around.

A nice enough winter day today. If the headache doesn't reappear I may do a little bus/walk to the library and around downtown today for a fresh dvd supply and some exercise. Will be wearing this deerstalker while I'm out.

And going all in the the British theme with a cape, Norfolk jacket and fair isle sweater vest to go along with it.

I hope everyone is finding their Monday tolerable,
Michael
Hope the headache is gone now, Michael.
I love Norfolk jackets. Is this one custom or vintage?

I'm almost walking again! Only for very short distances though. I still feel some pain, but I'm definitely getting better. Herniated discs are no joke.

Thought I'd break out my Stetson 4X Conversion and step out onto the front porch for a few. Haven't been outside in a while. I look a little washed out and I lost some weight,...

Giving the newly rebuilt Berger of Hollywood (AKA The Frunoberger - thanks, moe) it's maiden voyage on a sloppy, wet Monday morning. The good thing is, it's above freezing for the first time in two weeks!

And brim up for Bob, in case he's checking in.

I look...confused.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Might be above freezing, but that's still a chilly Berger!:D
Looks great!
Btw, you don't look confused, you look Californian.:)

Helluva way to lose those extra holiday pounds. Glad you're starting to feel better. I have had back issurs in the past, no fun at all.
Nice hat, too.

Nice! Definitely a double thumbs up!
Thanks TJ. I see you a little bit worn, please rest and work on hats

I really like the felt and ribbon combo on this hat Daniele. It's a winner. Hope your infection is cleared now.
Thanks Michael, yes it seems clared. I hope because it last too long

Beautiful color and finish!
Thanks so much DD!

Good looking hat, Daniele. Reminds me of my Mayser antilope finish. Mine stays on now matter what the wind does however.
Thanks Stefan. I think you more than one hat in this finish and colors. It is quite common in the German market. Now I have to understand "Carlton" construction. French or German or a third source?

Lovely lid, Daniele! Good to hear you're on the mend, friend. I had my mother taken by ambulance to the hospital at 11:00 pm last night. They confirmed two things... that she does have influenza, type I, and that it was a VERY good thing she got there. Another good thing; I donned a surgical mask every time I went to see her over the last three days. I hope it worked...
I hope your mother will be soon in good health, Charlie and about your mask must be a little bit more fancy so you can amuse your old lady ;)

Thanks Serge. The headache is making a bit of a play again, but not as bad as it has been. I don't know how old it has to be to be vintage to you, but the Norfolk is a J. Peterman that dates, I think, to the late 1980s or early '90s.

Already dark when I got home. Quick snaps next to a lamppost.

Michael, thank you.

Thanks Harv. I actually worked up a bit of a sweat on the quick march back from the bus stop.

Thanks all,
Michael

Hey all!
The Jazz Man Cavanagh snorts derisively at this winter storm (unlike many other Jazz Men, who snorted other things). And with it's signature edge at just over 2" from the ribbon, it fits nicely under the umbrella.

It also likes to go brim up on me. Must have been thinking about Bob and his love of microclimate weather reports.
Have a great day!
