For someone who adamantly maintains his position as a "hobbyist", your hat work is clearly on a higher level Mr. Jones. That "campaign" bow is excellent, and suits the hat perfectly. Do you take commissions? ;)

My sincere sympathies for your back issues, and good thoughts for a speedy recovery with a minimal amount of discomfort. I understand your concerns, but speaking from personal experience I would suggest you don't push to return to work until you're feeling 100% again. In the long run, your health should be your number one priority.
Thank you, Zombie! What a nice compliment. I really appreciate that. If I had a few more blocks and flanges to work with of a few various sizes I would love to broaden my hat horizons.

Thank you again buddy. You're so right about not trying to push it. My back issues started a few weeks ago and just as I was on the mends I thought I was well enough to return to work. My daughter, who is an RN, warned me not to push it and return to work too soon. I went anyway only having to go home early because I had pretty much made a bad issue worse. So, yes. You're definitely right. Thanks again buddy.

How are you all doing? Best wishes to all loungers for the new year. I would have said that earlier, but first work was crazy busy and then I was a bit under the weather for a few days.

Here us on our way to my nephews third birthday.

Not braving the cold today; hanging in the house. But not unproductive and still behatted at points.

Just finished this rebuild. The body is a Berger of Hollywood. Reblocked from 7 1/8 to 7 1/4. New sweat by Bond; custom cut and fitted by me. Ribbon is navy. My 2nd attempt at gills.

New Hat Day is always a good day!

Happy Saturday.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.
Good work Jim, from what I can see the gills look good

First and foremost, take it easy buddy! I feel your pain, my back is hamburger and I have the same issues. My doctor says "man was not meant to walk on two legs, we would be better off on all fours!" Love this OR look, classic. Beautiful work.
Thank you Red. I really appreciate that.

Buddy, I know one thing. With this back issue I'm having I'm glad I only have two legs that hurt instead four! :D

Haven't been posting and commenting on all the great hats the last few days, due to an inflammation to my eyes (couldn't see the keyboard properly). So I left out my eyes on the headshots of yesterday and today (doing a bit better, thank you).
Yesterday was the Konsul chamois finish.

Today the Mauerer again.
