Earlier this morning saw the remnants of an overnight frost, there was a slight coating on the garage roof. Now, although still cold, the sun shines. Warm enough for a summer shirt, cool enough for one of John B's finest.

Both are damn fine looking hats sir and you look awesome as usual! I must confess I am jealous of that phenomenal mustache as well! I was just recently shot down and outright BANNED from having facial hair at the office. In fact the owners response included the F word lol! :(

Allowed a mustache but no beard. (Once in a while I have to use a respirator).

When I was 17 I was crowned young poet of éire (Ireland), and about 25 years later I won the John Whyte memorial for the best intellectual essay on northern Ireland, I figure the Nobel is next.
Not the easiest of subjects, I've read much of Gerald Seymour's take on 'the troubles.' I looked up John Whyte and immediately realised it was John Henry Whyte, I should have known with the unusual spelling of the surname, have you read his book: "Church and state in modern Ireland?"
So, you reckon that the Nobel prize is next? I will gladly nominate you for Lounger of the Year, while you are waiting for the call from Oslo.
Put our shit together man we'll take over the world, nobody reads anymore.
If only, trouble is, kids spend so much time reading text babble, they forget the richness of the true written word.

Remember, it was written off a prescribed reading list to win a prize, it is close to but not my opinion. (-:
I shall look forward to reading that this afternoon.

it is a bit turgid hard truths. Each word is chosen so perhaps hard to get through. I've probably read that book but it's a while ago. The essay was granted a 74% by Michael Gallagher who has his own Wikipedia page. His version of 100% is a first or 70% so I reckon 75% would have been better. Still it was Gallagher who submitted it for the national prize. It is short but arguably even years later, my finest work. Enjoy.

Thanks for the link Karl. I've saved it & look forward to reading it later. I'm sure it will help better my understanding of the situation. And such an honor for you!

Well, that's a whole 'nother matter, indeed. I've been in that situation myself. However, an employer who would demand such a thing of me, especially in my profession, would not have me as an employee. I was once fired from a job at - get this - a record store and head shop, because I wouldn't cut my hair. And it was actually shorter than the day they hired me. And the owner assaulted me on my way out the door after I was fired.

Good times.

This morning began by picking up the Sunday paper in a vtg. Stetson Eagle Vita Felt. This has very lightweight maleable felt. An oldy, but very special.

The crown tag is always a treat to see.

The leather sweat shows some age, but is comfortable when wearing.

My outside chore list was started and the lightweight vintage Stetson was actually cold for the top of my head. I swtiched to a Gannon (moss with gill ribbon treatment) to continue with my efforts outside.

While many people know that today is the 82nd birthday of Parker Bros. game Monopoly, it stuns me that 7,579,097,230 of the 7,579,097,231 people on this planet do not know that November 5 is international "Wear Your Adam THE POLAR Day."

Merry Sunday!
