Well, It actually stops at the edge of the underside where it has a more concealed row of stitches, just enough to finish the front of the edge but doesn't extend beyond the minimum to cover the front.

Thanks, BobC. I looked at the brim bindings on my Mallory and Disney. They're just enough narrower that the binding can be equal on both sides of the brim. I love this hat - and already got shouts of approval from down the grocery store aisle!

Swoop the brim and crank back the side dents! I think it lowers wind resistance .
