Hückel (Weilheim) "Chamois" probably mid to later 1950s and a recent arrival.

That hat looks good on you. You have a strong chin and that crown balances it nicely.

Inspired by Esther Weis's beautiful photo and the straw hat I decided to break out my Montecristi Optimo Panama today. It is the first Panama I purchased and the density of the weave is not as tight as the other Panama fedora style hat I purchased a few years later and have previously shown on the Forum. It is fairly warm in the Bay Area right now so the hat works with the weather.

This one sure is a stunner! Love the ribbon color, beautiful.

Thank you. That ribbon cost me an arm and a leg. But well worth it.

Gorgeous hat, gorgeous hatter, wonderful picture.

Thanks Doug! Safe travels.

Me too [emoji6]

Looking elegant today Ms Weis. :)

Why thank you Mister Smith. And, is that a hint?

Still. One of my favorite hats I have ever made. And my moms favorite.
Which is ironic since it doesn't really have a bow. Still, i made up for that with hiding your initials in it.
Looks gorgeous on you.

And! Hey! I was pink today. Geeez! ;)

Thanks Bob!

Like in terms of cost/quality like Bailey vs. Cavanagh. Is this brand one of the "Mercedes" of European hat makers?
Mike, I am not sure who made it. There isn't any company mark so not a branded hat. I would say it's a mid to lower price point Fur Felt hat for the time period. The felt and finish on this one is better than anything produced today.

Wow, a Montecristi in captivity. Don't see these in the flesh very often. Impressive.

Knox Westlite on a beautiful Saturday!!

This is what I was wondering. Just looking at it, it didn't seem as nice as some of the other Huckel flavored hats you sport. I agree it is probably nicer than a modern Stetson. I really like it.
