Wearing a circa 1920s Italian straw boater made in Firenze (Florence) for National Straw Hat Day:
It's not too bad , Mike. It has a few threads coming loose where the sweat ends meet .While I was investigating this issue, I found the OPS label still attached and tucked in behind. Always fun to narrow the date down on these old hats.Wow, for that age it has survived in great condition. Love this one a lot!
Great boater!Wearing a circa 1920s Italian straw boater made in Firenze (Florence) for National Straw Hat Day:
But your skivvies, Bobby... Hanes (pronounced, "hein'-ous") briefs is a surprise. Would have thought a man like you would be a boxer guy, AKA "Waldorf" underwear. Like the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, with its legendary ballroom.
Groan!
I'm so stealing that, Charlie.
Nice transitional AlanI am only half ready to switch to straw.
Note the similarity to the label posted by Roger from his Knox 20 genuine panama... the purchase of Dunlap by Knox was announced in an August 1919 issue of the American Hatter.

+1 for Howard Johnson's fried clam strips.Closest HoJo to me is 70 miles north. Used to stay at them all the time as a kid. Tuesday: all the clams you can eat!
I'm a Stroh's man, myself.
Sent directly from my mind to yours.
The pictures of the fourth hat came from Holland, Eu exchange, were made at the end of last week.

The hat is pretty new. The line is fantastic
Finish in an excellent way and the felt is on par with the production of high quality
My thanks go to Stefan who is able to find hats of great quality that have, happy, a passionate beyond the Alps
With this super Mayser the season of felt ends.
Buon Lunedì!
Yes Alan the aqua grey is almost the same in hands.Excellent! I love the aqua gray shown in this photo... does it look so in the hand?
We can begin the discussion on the grays, interpreted by the various "felt painters" in the history of the historical production of hats

You win! How could anybody top this prime example of wicker hattery!I was ignorant about today being straw hat day.
Happily, I have with me this peculiar $3 hat that I found at the antique mall Saturday. It demanded that I purchase it.
Oh yeah... Good reading for the day about the 1922 Straw Hat Riots in NYC: http://mentalfloss.com/article/61755/straw-hat-riots-1922
As good a reason to riot as any, I suppose.
