As I was perusing the thread on tapering crowns I found this post. Thought some of you might dig it if you haven't seen it...
Feraud said:
Now that we know what taper means it should also be said that certain face shapes look better with a slightly tapered crown.

There is a pdf book around here somewhere showing men's faces with the ideal hat shape.

Here you go.
I like this chart, even if I ignored it and I am very thankful to Mr. Blaine for posting it on my help thread a while back. (I am not sure where it came from originally)

It illustrates the difference of tapered and full crowns rather well too.

Saved them to my hard drive, now to figure out what "face" I have? Dorian Gray?

Great looking hat, Boonie.

Hope you got that grilled cheese to round out the day's fantasticitude.

I had come home during my lunch break hoping that UPS would drop by while I was eating. The grilled cheese was excellent, but UPS dropped my package off only after I went back to work. Figures...

Those Fortune and Glory pieces are quite nice for modern hats... congrats

butter on both sides of the bread or just the outside ?

Thanks! I had a brain fart actually. I was in a rush for time and I just melted the butter in the pan and tossed the sandwich in. I was wondering what went wrong.

What else could you ask for.

More money for hats, of course!

The excitement on your face is positively PALPABLE!! Congrats on BOTH counts, BoonieF! Super lid, sir!!

I'll chalk that up to location - I take my reenacting photos right there too, and I gotta look serious for those. Rest assured, I had a huge smile on my mug for a few hours after donning it.

What a difference a day makes. Summer time yesterday. Cool Fall like weather today. Oh well. Anyway, everyone looks great. Lovin' the fine collection of lids. My bucket list keeps getting longer. Just too bad I'll probably kick the bucket before I get anything on the list. Wearing this reworked Premier Whippet reproduction again today....

Gotta have some rockabilly tunes to listen to while we peruse through the comments and look at all the pictures of those fine lids

Cars and Rockabilly! Gotta love it!
