Fruno, between your post & mine there's a joke in there somewhere but I'm just going to pass up the opportunity.Yeah, and my Mustang just wasn't the same after it had that tussle with the telephone pole...

Thanks but nothing shows up.

Great machine Moe. I have a 230/260 that is basically the same thing in a flat bed machine. There is a group on Yahoo called the oldpfaffpforum. If you join the group you can ask questions and also access service manuals and the like. I also have a 130, which is the grandfather of the one you have and I had to do the adjustment to get a straight stitch without wobble. It's pretty straightforward to do. These machines like oil in all the places that are supposed to have oil, but make sure you don't get any oil onto the fabric cogged belts that run the timing and I believe in your machine also one goes from the motor to the pulley. They are very cool machines. It's a model 332. Once I figured out the tensioning and a few other things with help from a link to an online manual, it runs well and sews a nice tight stitch, just a little pigeon-toed. But just enough that it stands out on a brim binding.
Hopefully I'll find a service person to fix the problem.

OK, you must tell us about the first hat there with the wide bound, quadruple-stitched brim! What manner of celestial hattery invades my eye space?!?Some days are just jammed packed with stuff to do. Sheesh! Home and off doing errands and then a lunch meeting.
Back to work for the afternoon and evening. Gannon (granite felt and charcoal ribbon) on my head.
Hats/cap wait for the return trip later tonight.
(I did make a pile for the pic. Normally I have the hats flat on the backseat. )
Best, Eric -
I hope your recovery from the flu finally kicks in soon. I know the misery of the lingering ache. Great Hobson. I think the ribbon probably has a few good years in it yet. Can't compete with all your fancy hats here today. It's been dark an rainy and miserable all day, and it'll probably stay like that till may. I can't seem to recover from the flu, I'm no longer in bed with a fever, but still constantly exhausted and achey. I think I just need to take a holiday somewhere where there's actual sunlight. Or go into hibernation. I'll stop complaining now and get to the hat
Just my old Hobson, because it's already been rained on so often it doesn't really matter anymore. Looking at it now, I think it does need some tlc and a new ribbon though...
You can ask Etsy shops like that one to customize a hat for you based on one of their standard models. One of my favorite hat shops is Watson's in Arizona. They offer these models (the colors can be customized):

http://watsonshatshop.com/shop/western-homburg/

They are taller crowns with curled brims. You can call the owner and chat with him about options -- he's really nice. Good luck hunting!
Good Find !
I definitely see things I like. Thanks for the tip.
Although prices are stupid ridiculous.
Love this one Moe. I'm interested in true lord's hats. This one does fit the definition, even though it was made in the USA. Looks like it provides some shade per that last image!Hey everyone!

They look like top quality hats, but for $1000 I can have 4 made just like them by Mike at NW Hats. Sharp looking hat to wear with that blazer. Love it so, covet it more.I looked over my hats today and selected the Penman custom with steel felt, a blued gun steel color with grey and blue all blended together.
Yeah, it looks like Eric raised his prices since last I dropped in... they were still really high a year ago, though. But they have very high quality products.

I would have to be convinced the difference in price equals a rise in overall quality. A Gannon is almost there with all the extras, but still not that high. I would need one in each hand to make a decision. Which is near impossible.Definitely. I'm pretty sure a custom rabbit from Watson's used to be around 400.00 -- maybe times are getting tough at Cave Creek!
You know after you travel the world and come back to America you learn a lot. One of the things I have learned is Americans are fools when it comes to spending money. If I told someone in Peru that I spent $999 on a hat they would laugh and lose total respect for me. The same is true with many other costs that we so gullibly swallow.
Last week I went down to Tijuana for some medical tests. Stool sample and blood work for 160 pesos which is just over $10. Try getting that in America.
My custom made Peruvian fedoras are of higher quality than what I purchased from two well known indie hat makers on this site for $14....just saying.
I don't support those types of business.
Nice hats though and sorry for the political rant.
