Good afternoon folks. Unseasonably warm today. A high in the mid 40'F expected later this afternoon. A chilly 23'F start had me in a wool jacket and hat. Gannon Wanderer (charcoal with frayed ribbon treatment) was my morning head gear.

I would imagine that her last few years were her best, not only since she had them when so few of her bretheren ever do, but also because there must be great comfort in outliving your tender and tasty years.

Thanks MB. The camera seems to think it's purplish today. I would call it chocolate brown, but to me that does mean a hint of purple. Varies by light conditions I guess.

And actually, my guess on the date is based almost entirely on comparisons of the interior to the examples on @mayserwegener 's website. If you're interested in the hat, drop me a line -- it's a bit tight on me (7 1/8 ~22.5") and I don't wear it very often =)

Thanks for the condolences, all. Humor is never inappropriate, Jack. Not in my world. It was fun having an unusual pet for so long, but at least I got to experience it.

My wife is having her cremated, destined to take her place among our other dogs and cats on the Memorial Mantle. She wasn't receptive to the idea of putting her in one of those little hat gift boxes, though. [emoji4]

Just so y'all know... rabbits will eat Panama straw hats! Our friends have a rabbit, and after our first trip together to Ecuador I brought him back a Cuenca weave straw hat to wear at his wedding. Well, sometime later he left the hat out and came home from work to find his hat more than half way eaten up.
