Ever see him set up his table outside the casino to sell his autograph while he watches all the games he placed bets on while there in Vegas?Well, he picked Cleveland before the game last night, so...
The color guys on Fox pregame were a real treat. First you had A-Rod, overdressed and trying too hard, like a politician in his first campaign - he looked like he was auditioning for a job. Frank Thomas was more than competent, and I enjoyed his commentary (though it's like watching a mountain talk). Pete was hilarious. "Screw it, I'm Pete Rose, I'll just throw out random observations!"
Nice bash!Back to the Moss Green Gannon today. Since you have to be tired of seeing the same hat (it keeps finding its way to my head), here is a picture of a bunny with a pancake on its head.

I have a wayward brother who lives in Chicagoland with his family. Last night's BIG win for the Cubbies calls for a BIG hat... Akubra Sombrero!
I always like to tell about finding this lid brand new in a now defunct (favorite) store that was called Building #19. They billed themselves as "America's Messiest Deapartment Store," peddling all manner of close outs, overstock, factory seconds, or whatever else they could make a buck on. About 25 years ago, they had a Gaylord container of them as I walked in the door. This was right on top, in MY SIZE, tagged at $19.99. SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome. Those Jeep I-6 engines are bulletproof.
Depending on whether you believe him or not, Pete isn't much of a gambler either.Never been to Vegas, and it's easily the last place on my list to visit. Not much of a gambler, and the place just strikes me as tacky. I've been to Cooperstown during induction weekend a couple of times, and Pete's a fixture there. Being from Dayton, I've seen and talked with Pete numerous times at various functions, charity events, etc. Always gracious to his fans. The only time he was a little aloof with me was once when I was about 10, my sister and I asked for his autograph while he was sitting on the bench during a charity basketball game. That was inconsiderate of us, and I don't blame him for being annoyed.
LOL
Gotta get you in some boots Charlie. Lotta hattitude there.
Suh-weet! Size 62? Wow!I have a wayward brother who lives in Chicagoland with his family. Last night's BIG win for the Cubbies calls for a BIG hat... Akubra Sombrero!

Bittersweet as my Dad (his memory robbed by Alzheimers) has been a Cub fan since the 1930s (he was born in Oak Park, IL). I asked Mom if he might want to watch the game with me, but professional sports has been a sore spot for him these last few years so I was on my own.
You might not know it, but this one was for you Dad. Way to go Cubs!
