This morning I greeted the outdoors with an interesting find of a couple years back, a Dobbs 20 (second, maybe?) made into a Robley. I could NEVER tell this was made by Dobbs, except for the debossed Dobbs name thinly covered on the sweatband. I wonder if they really wanted me to know...

almost looks like they just used a Dobbs sweat and tried to block it out

sweet hat nonetheless ... dig the crease as well

Thanks, Moon. From a manufacturing standpoint, I would be surprised if that was the case. I have seen other instances where a smaller company buys the bigger company's seconds, fixes them up, and private labels them. I have one from Levine Hatters that was positively made by Cavanagh. That one was almost a gift!
