So true, Perry ... lots of beautiful hats. Been away for awhile, so oceans of posts to read :)

When I visited Mike at Buckaroo Hatters 2-1/2 years ago, I bought a Western straw. Not anything special - I believe it was only $15 - but I really liked the looks of it. I actually like so much, I use it as my profile-pic on FB (here with my ribbon replacement):

Unfortunately I wasn't equipped with big enough "oysters" to wear such an exotic hat in the streets of CPH. At least until yesterday, when I saw this picture of EU-President, Herman Van Rompuy:

I haven't got a clue, what's going on in that pic, but it made me think: "What the heck - let the cattleman's finally get som fresh air!". So here we are, enjoying life on a beautiful 85F Summer day:

Many stared and some smiled (not quite sure, why) - but at least I didn't pose as an energy saving light bulb in grandma's old lamp shade :D

Looks great to me Ole! You wear it well.

Bob, I love looking' at that '47 every time you post it up!

I'll Second BOTH of those @TheDane and @Bob Roberts ! Great Hat Ole ! You stole it for $15 , and do look Great in it . And always love the 47 Bob .

I finally got my Borsalino Trionfo converted into a Homburg. What do you guys think? I couldn't change the ribbon out or put binding on the brim since Gary didn't have any in-store, but he took pretty good care of me otherwise.

Thank you so much for the kind reactions, guys! After it's "maiden-voyage", I placed it on a narrow stretcher to force it into my beany LO. The notion of wearing this hat in public proved to be a lot more scaring than actually doing it. I'm even considering changing the leatherette sweat during felt-season :)

Chamuco and Moehawk: You reminded me of two serious gaps in my collection: A powder blue and a seal velour. Two really gorgeous hats ;)

I accompanied my wife and our dogs to the Minneapolis AKC Dog Show. The beauty patent part first-Show, then Agility and ending with Water Trials. The dogs and I were bushed when we got home. Our pleasant weather changes today found me breaking out some caps during the day (Cordova Cap and Damian Monvarias).

Cheers folks. Eric -
Eric, you are yourself - and you are conspicuous! Great looking caps, right there! :)

Are those shades vintage? Looks to me like Tart Arnel - maybe Redwood CB. Sharp looking, Sir

Taking advantage of cool temps and wearing caps/hats. Straw hat weather coming soon.

This morning out and about in a Portis. Lovely felt. This is the first Portis I have owned. A big thanks to the Happy Wanderers (Dineman and his talented photog fiancé) for locating one and thinking of me. The brown felt is thick, but not heavy, malleable and soft. Truly those are a lot of characteristics for a felt. The thick, pliable leather sweat has a couple more decades of wear left.

Apologies for the pics. Too much color contrast and crazy exposure gets the pics wacky this morning in the cloudy, rainy conditions.

Best, Eric -

I've been coveting a silverbelly or light dove grey as my next custom. Keep wearing these and you will push me over the edge!

Thanks sir. Check the Gannon thread for the many gorgeous and easily wearable fedoras.

Back at you. Terrific hat that you wear with panache. The glasses are Lemtosh Moscot. The shades are fun to wear. I have a couple of different colors for reading glasses.

Really diggin' that cap, Eric. Must get one of those myself. Verstuurd vanaf mijn GT-I9515 met Tapatalk

Serge; Thanks. Check out the bespoke cap makers. The nuanced variety of styles fabrics are enjoyable to look at and wear. (BTW: They have a closed group on Facebook -ask, get permission and join.)

Thank you, Sir. Lemtosh Moscot and Tart Arnel are very close "cousins". I have the Arnel in three different colors, but they actually all need new glass. I just need to have a cataracts operation on the right eye first. The operation is free here, but the condition has to reach a certain level - and I'm just about there now :)

A little misty and cool this morning. This is possibly my favorite hat, if there is such a thing, and the one I wear most often. Lately I've been spinning a lot of my others, so this feels a little like going home. Falcon Park black cherry laird.

Jeff; Excellent "home hat." I close my eyes and see you in this hat. Wear it in pride. Best, Eric -

Nice. Nice t-shirt too.

Walking downtown (cuz that's where the action is) with the trusty SB CD. It's gonna be hot, so I'll switch to a straw to go to my niece's cookout
