There are definitely a number of "young" hatters in the US (and Europe, <ahem>). :)

I, too, am happy to see the trade being appreciated by young people today. We've been so exposed to mass produced products, that we are craving hand made authenticity done "the old way". Hand made crafts will always maintain value (so long as they're good at what they do).

I agree, you described it perfectly.

Younger people are starting to appreciate hand made products here as well.

Here around my neck of the woods there aren't as many custom hatters.
Well, fedora type hatters that is. You see a fair bit of ceremony milliners, but I'm one of the few here.

I am now trying to master the art of boaters.
It's not easy but I adore the look.

Cool brand, right? They've been making those shirts and sweaters since about forever. I know the shop, it's close to the red light district isn't it?

I know how tempting it is. I can never just buy one of their shirts [emoji15] still want a peacoat and a wool sweater too. It never stops......

Ik draag overigens een medium en dat is meestal mijn maat.

I am wearing an Armorlux as I type! I bought eight of them in Amsterdam a few years back at a little shop not far from the Leidseplein, four of which were for my wife and four for me. I also have a few more I got in Paris, as well as several of St, James'. They are absolutely my favorite shirts (obviously) for the hot weather. I think the St. James ones have less fading over time, but the Armorlux have a much more comfortable fit. I just recently picked up an Agnes B. linen jacket on Etsy, and it looks really fine (imho) matched with a sailor's shirt, jeans, and a straw hat. You can match those shirts with just about anything, though.

Hey folks!
Having trouble posting pics the usual way, so I'll do it like this...Royal Panizza, of modern manufacture. Just got it yesterday, only took 5 days to ship from The Netherlands. Will post more when Tapatalk isn't giving me grief.
Have a great day!

Well it stuck it here , but the weave is similar .

That is something I want to learn, as well. Keep in touch as you develop your skills. That is truly a lost art in the "old way".

AnA , I noticed Sunbody has a Guatemalan Palm Hat called Alligator Palm that's weave looks like the Old Boaters to me . .02 cents , but I noticed .
