I dont know what all that means exactly, but the hat is more than vaguely similar to my Fed, so I love it. :)
Thanks Scotty, this is copier from the original TVA thread. But for some reason the photos no longer showed up.
So I redid it here.

Buckaroo Hatters aint just for cowboys anymore!

After the teaser in another thread, I could not wait any longer.

Here is a photo sent to me from 'Major' Moore.
tva1nn6.jpg

The photo of my grandfather {from around 1936, when he worked for the TVA in Alabama, hence the name of the hat}, from the shots Mike sent, I think he nailed the look and style with no more than he had to go on.

A shot of the crown, Mike and I both speculated that a diamond bash would be likely for the 1936 time frame.

And the liner.

Mike has cleaned it and it is on its way to me even as I type.
Some of the specs...100% Beaver--just a hair under six inchs [open crown]
2 3\4 inch brim-- maybe Mike can hit the specifics better than I can.
MORE PHOTOS TO FOLLOW!!
I redid this as for some reason my photos no longer showed up . [huh]

Too many to comment on over the past few days so I'll just say, Well Done, gentlemen.

This one's from Oklahoma Hatters. It's probably the largest fedora I own.

I am thinking of Dallas! The old show that is.

Lots of great hats, liking that green Jimmy!

:arated: Agreed - I see more folks looking good on one page here, than I see in 6 months of walking Seattle.

Carter - that is an especially cool-looking lid.

Boy Carter you ain't kidding. The size looks good on you. How is the felt? I can see some nap on the crown,is it a thicker felt?

Douglas, It is a thicker felt. It's western weight with a bit less stiffness. The crown is 5" and the brim is 3". I'm planning on applying some steam and reshaping both soon.

Nice lids and looks guys. It is nice seeing others on a daily basis that enjoy fedoras as I do. After only seeing three people with fedoras on in the city where I live I almost chased someone down just to say nice hat....lol

Seriously, Gene. Is there any hat you don't look good in? :D I like the look of that Snowy River on you.

Oh, and I showed your photo to my pooch. He thinks he looks much better than the cat...:D

Cheers,
JtL
