No... that bridge is a lot of windy and can blow things very very far. It's right in the wind tunnel that comes from the Tagus river mouth and most of the time the bridge swings (it was swinging in the middle!).
I don't want to loose my hat and that one have a stampede string, so was the chosen for the task. Anyway seems no one wore one (I have not seen a person with a wide brim hat there) and people stared at me as "look another weirdo".
