Thanks, Foamy. I really love their classic design. And after looking at some of your pics, I think you would be able to absolutely crush the derby look.

Vintage brown ones (that aren't sized for microcephalics) are hard as heck to find. I've been pining for one for a while.

If you can't find a brown or snuff colored one, and you get the hankering for black, you can find some really high quality vintage ones on the bay for very reasonable prices.

I took the day off for a drive with my girls to the emerald city to our north... had some shopping to do. I was wearing a Borsalino nutria fur feather weight. Like anybody is looking at me.

Funny how that works, isn't it? When I got my Taupe Fawn Campdraft two years ago I gave it the usual Teardrop crease and snapped the front of the brim waaaayyyyy down, just the way I like it. And...I wasn't crazy about the hat. I wore it that way for about a year, then decided maybe I'd like it better if it had a C-Crown, so I reshaped it. Nothing. Again, I wore it that way for quite a while, then decided to go back to the Teardrop, but raise the crown height a little. That helped, but I still wasn't crazy about it and decided the color was probably the reason I didn't like the hat. Then, about a month ago, it finally dawned on me--the hat wasn't happy with the brim snapped down so far, and I hadn't been listening to it. So I brought the brim back up to the amount of snap the flanging would normally allow, and we've been almost inseparable ever since. Yeah, sometimes I'm a slow learner.

Have you heard of Martha Sliter? She is quoted as saying the following piece: Although it describes a female perspective on hat wearing, it's easy enough to edit it to the male point of view. Your comment about listening, something men learn when they get married, resonated Martha's take on hats.
