Back from a few TOO busy days, and today I am proud to include a guest WHAYWT contributor.

Mr. West came to my place to remove a 40 - 50 foot tall Spruce tree which was precariously close to the building, not to mention causing lots of damage to the asphalt drive.

This, his daily hat, is the one he wore in the Navy circa 1976. It's the original, modified very slightly to better resist wind drag in and under the front. Of all the lids displayed around here, this one immediately struck me as one of the best "broke in," rich-with-character hats on the Lounge. Stiff competition for Renault's yard working, mule taming, fence fixing lid of a year or two ago.

My hat today: VS Sahara w/ 2-1/4" bound brim.

It is one of the rare hat I see in these years that seems very close to hats (rare) I saw when I was a child/boy in North Italy.
A real jump in the past.
A true historic hat.
