Gary: Love the hat. Love the color. Love the bash. Love the shape of the brim. Especially love the hat band! I do believe the brim should b brought done somewhat.

I like your whole outfit. It looks very well put together.
So your son sort of inherited the smirk eh?

Thank you kindly, Esther. It looks put together until taking a selfie trying to include a guy a half foot taller than me; then the suit jacket goes frumpy (if that's a word...).

And the poor child (twenty-something) may have inherited that smirky look, but maybe from his Mom...

Mayser - yesterday's Borsalino was absolutely superb... And what s color!!

Strapped - you know how I feel about strats... Great hat my friend

Fruno - those D'Aquino slices look like customs on you man... You have found a niche my friend

Esther - I really like that hat on you ... And the way you are wearing it breathes confidence ... fantastic ribbon work by the way

Zipster - do not trim the brim!!!
It looks great on you

Alan - by just looking at that Borsalino I can tell exactly what it feels like in hand... It's one of those .. Poke it and the bash stays.. Works of art... Bravo my friend

On top today is a late 40s/early 50s Royal Deluxe ... As always just proud to be part of the fold

Hey everyone!
Great lids today.

The sun is back, so in addition to SPF 50, I'm wearing my latest, well, hard to call it my "creation" when I started with such an awesome raw hat body. This is a WWII era Parabuntal, most likely sent home by an American serviceman stationed in the Philippines. I found it in a thrift store, unblocked, without really knowing what it was. Good thing that there are plenty of folks here that know way more than I who are willing to share information. Anyways, the weave on this thing is amazingly fine. John Galt calls it fine art, and I agree wholeheartedly (the weave, not my work!)
Anyhoo, Number 7:

85 degrees here in SoConn. Whats this abt throwing summer straws into some fountain...?Recent production Dobbs Bishop. Florentine weave crown. Milan weave brim.

I was going to put my fist through mine, but it's not a boater. :)

That's a beauty Bob. I don't think I've seen that one before. You are getting closer to selling me on white for a ribbon or pug, when I finally end up ordering my Hemp from Peters Brothers.

Great work Moe. That's the exact shape I'm interested in when I order my hemp Milan (probably for spring at this point). I like how there isn't an extreme slope towards the back. Yours seems somewhat level. I think I might even send one of your pictures as an example when I order, if that's OK.

Thanks Alan, Moon!
It's a little big for me, but manageable. I've got a balloon head, so i can wear a mens hat.

TY Fruno and Andy. The brim was more or less in this position on the body as I found it, but I did use my home-made flange on it to sharpen the brim break.
Andy, I don't like the "tugboat" slope to the rear of the crown either. Go ahead and use a pic if you like.

Joao, the Wooly umbrella conjures up this image from my youth, and Mad Magazine... A favorite of all my associates at the time.

ah ah! ;)

Here's my Stetson Carson 6X in Silverbelly that I mentioned in my introduction. The hatband is hand made/tooled/sewn by yours truly
As already mentioned, this is my first 'Real' hat and by far at 3.75 ins, the largest brimmed hat I've ever had LOL.
Do you guys think I can carry off this wide a brim, or do you think I should lose a half inch or so?y
I think it looks nice (but I can be a lil' suspicious on this)
Did you get it in Spain or did you imported it from the US?

Zipster, if you trim that hat, Joao will come over the border from Portugal and whip you with a wet noodle.
ah ah. And to take the hat of his hands too ;)
