Dark Brown Royal Stetson today:




An eBay win from a couple of years ago, it quickly became my favorite among my collection. The reddish tinge to the brown suits me, the curl to the brim fore and aft is just right. I've dubbed it my "Robert Jordan" hat, as it reminds me of the lid Gary Cooper wore in "For Whom the Bell Tolls."

Another reason why I'm fond of it is that it may be the same age I am. As I understand it, the round Stetson size tag, brown with gold lettering and a gold rim, dates from the early to mid-Fifties, right?

Supposed to be negative 10 here today. I may not even open the door, and may use the 4th consecutive snow day to re-shape and steam some of my hats. Wonderful hats so far today men!
