It's this hat, re-ribboned with a ribbon off of another '50s stetson. The felt is tough as nails.

Alucard, that's the first bound brim panama I've seen. The binding adds a real first rate look to it. Another very nice one for you.

Thanks Kiltie and BobC. I wanted to try it. The guys at Catalina Hatters were not sure they could bind the edge b/c the montecristi is so light. I told them if it was possible...do it, if not...just do the ribbon. They did it and it turned out better than I expected and the bound edge adds a lot of stability to a wavy brim.

Thanks Gene. Not much of a collection, but I like them. I'm just happy its getting cool enough to wear some felts. Its taking some adjustment moving to SoCal from the Northeast.

Thank you IC, this one is the tawny fawn. It seems to have gotten a little darker over the past couple years. at least to me !

You know, I have to (belatedly) apply for the appropriate Thin Ribbon and OR threads, but I do not want to do so until I can take some acceptable photos of the hats... [huh]
