Vintage Portis brown bowler.

Now that's a refreshing difference. Way to make the whole get-up look very cool, man. Bowlers/Derbys/Cokes - what have you, and Top Hats and Homburgs are types of hats I've never been comfortable or confident in myself. I do think they are great on the right dude and you seem to be it!

Makes my want to rethink my take on those rounder style of hats.

Hey Rusty,

That certainly has the Open Road thing going on but with seemingly smaller proportions. Personally, I like the slightly lower crown and a little less brim. It's A LOT like a Stratoliner in that sense.

Thanks Gene... the crown at the front pinch is right at 5 inchs and the back is 3 1\2 at the back of the diamond. The brim is 2 3\4 inchs wide.
I do not have any Open Roads at this time but at one time I had 3, all with about the same crown [I did not have a diamond in them so the back was a little higher] and 2 brims were 2 3\4 and one was 2 7\8s.

Hey Feraud,

I saw the "backwards" ribbon and your latest note.

The pleats should be down as in shingles on a roof, disallowing dust or debris from settling into the cracks.

Start the thing with one of the little barbs stuck in the hat at what would be your left temple and wrap counter-clockwise. Adjust as necessary to get it to end up on the side as you like. That starting point is different for my size 7 hats than it would be for someone's size 7-5/8 hat.
