Today it was the beater HatCo western.

Hmmm...Photobucket seems to be having trouble with resizing.

Nice 7x on DJH. How do you like switching the ribbon from thin to wide? I never thought of doing that on a quality Open Road--beaters yes, 7x and 100 no, hadn't considered it.
David, Great looking Stetson. I like the wider ribbon, makes a completely different hat.

I didn't think that ribbon was switched. I thought they made some 7XCB's with different ribbon widths.
So they did. The mode-edge 7X and 3X were dress hats.

David, sharp, that looks really sharp, your 7x is a stunner. Color and shape, perfect!

Thanks a lot guys - this 7XCB is one of my most prized hats.

Dan, as Mike and Alan mentioned, the chances are that the wider ribbon is original to the hat. There are some other examples seen on the Lounge, although they don't seem to be too common. I also have an Open Road 7XCB, I wouldn't dream of changing the ribbon!

This hat was previously owned by Bill (Buler) and there are some of his photos and discussion starting here in the 7XCB thread if interested.

Here's my pair of 7XCB's

Fantastic hat day yesterday, everyone.

I'm getting my Friday going with a big Dunkin coffee and Stetson 7XCB

Bravo!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

That is my absolute favorite combination of colors for a hat. A light sand felt with a copper brown ribbon. I have GOT to find a hat that looks like that.....maybe with a little shorter of a brim. ;)

Park Avenue western combo

Enjoying a first wear for two items today. This 1950s Cavanagh homburg looked nice in the auction... I passed the first time around. How many black homburgs can one use? Couldn't resist it two times though and it wound up costing an extra 7 dollars with two bidders.

Also seeing the first light of day is this 1940s Navajo Arts and Crafts Guild buckle. I know this is the hat forum, but I am really taken with the design of this piece - so I've included a close up. The belt it is paired with was an intriguing Etsy find that seemed to fit (and will fit me even better if I can lose an inch of waist.)

have a wonderful weekend!

WOW!!! :eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap:eusa_clap

The western theme with the homburg is truly an awesome look. That buckle is simply stunning! Its awesome how everything in your outfit is completely tied together. The black pants and black shirt go with the black homburg, the textured brown belt goes perfectly with the textured brown jacket and the blue in the buckle is a focal point. Perfect!

Tom, very good, It's the same Hat as Eric's Hat with a different color. One of the best!

Alex, beater? Looks very nice and nice photo with the dog.

Alan, you are a dress man, can I say that? The Homburger looks perfect on you, that jacket sharp, I must have so one for me to in the same color!
The Buckle is wonderful, fineart handcrafted. But Josh has the native language. I totally agree with that.

Thanks, Josh. Yes, this hat is big in just about every dimension - the brim is nearly 3 inches.

Great look for you today, Alan - you can pull that mix of styles off well.

For Fawcett Friday, I was heading out in my Black Cherry VS this afternoon.
