Feeling Adventurous today. Tetons in the background.

Thank you very much. I tried out my "Indy" outfit in sub freezing weather and snow. The Akubra Adventurer kept the sun out of my eyes and my head warm. The Bostonian leather jacket proved warm but too heavy. The Craftman work shirt did well as did the lined jeans. Redwing Iron Rangers kept my wool socked feet dry but if I stopped walking my feet would stat to get cold. The soles on the boots are slick and I had trouble with slipping. I would rather wear my light Omni Heat jacket and pants and my Danner Gortex lined lug soled hiking boots. The hat I can keep.

Teacher conferences today. This Playboy only shows its true colors in natural light, as the middle photo (with saturation boost) shows.
We had a little snow in the air today too.

I like PBs too. No snow here, but it finally did cool down.

Hi Jeff,

Do you mean the true hat colors? Grayed khaki with a still shiny copper penny ribbon. They are muted tones and, for some reason, almost impossible for inexpensive digital cameras (and iPhones, as used here) to get right.

Thanks for the notes! My earlier 1940s Playboy is a special favorite... I sometimes forget about this one (c. 1950)... Royal Stetson, wide and soft with an embroidered RS crest. I agree with Zetwal on the :eusa_clap for this venerable Stetson brand.

Great hat. So with so many variables in demonstrating true colors should we have some minimal standard or will it get too complicated. We could agree on a Standardized Gray Card or some such that could be included with pictures where color is an issue. I was anxious about a Moonstone FedIV until it arrived. I thought it might be too light in color until someone compared it to charcoal side by side online which was my deciding point.

Thank you Amador. I think we should probably give up "true" color as hopeless. A neighbor of ours has a lovely old colonial (the only one on our street of Victorians) painted white as snow. The neighbor on the other side painted their house fuchsia. The white house is now either white or pink, depending on which direction you are walking.

I guess this might account for why so many of us have way too many hats. I'm still hunting for that true silverbelly! ;)
