What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

Stetson St. Regis. I changed the crease a little too, to accommodate some side taper.

As usual, the color is a bit brighter than it should be on the Photo Booth software of the Mac. But the hat is really light colored in person, so it's somewhat accurate. Might wear this one to and from church tomorrow, if I go.

It looks great, J.B. I'm always surprised at the versatility of that particular hat. I like this newest crease the best of what you've done so far, as well :eusa_clap!

Thank you! I think I have finally found something that works for this particular hat. It doesn't strike me as quite as big looking as the Federation IV does on me (maybe it's the light/dark color contrast, they're basically a similar crease and height, the Fed being slightly taller by a quarter of an inch I think).

I really like the crown and crease, and I think that it goes well with your face shape, but I do not like what you did with the brim. I thought it looked better on you when it was not turned down in the front like that

Thanks! Well, the brim is still in great condition, and can snap back up easily. I'm doing this currently to go for something of a snap-brim look. Brim up the hat looks nice too. This look's not for everyone. I don't think I intend to wear this strictly as a traditional homburg though. I saw a picture in the Homburg Nation thread of a guy in an old, 1920s crowd wearing it casually, and I found that photo inspiring, somewhat influential to the way I wear mine.

Donned the antique panama again today to head off to the local Farmers' Markets. Turns out I misspoke about this hat last time. It's not a refurb job at all. It was part of a stock of near 100 year old hat bodies from a New York hatter that went out of business in 1915. Tom Gomez has done a great job creating this hat out of that old body.

Circa 1925.

The Homburg brims became more stiff (into the 20s) and Derby like although there are exceptions like the late 50s early 60s Wegener Homburg hybrid I posted a couple of pages back. Also the binding is on the bottom side of the brim so the stitching is exposed if snapped. I actually saw an early 1900s photo where a fellow was wearing a Derby with an intentional side dent so in the end anything goes.

Just got back from taking my Mother to Mass and wore my new Stylemaster with my "Sunday go to Meetin'" clothes. She thought it looked good

But am switching to my Bushmaster for the rest of the day as I have to go feed some horses for a friend at their stables this afternoon.

A Stylemaster is NOT a stable hat to me. ( though I'm sure it would do fine )

Wore my Stetson St. Regis to church, not during the service, of course, as a gentleman should be obliged to do. As a matter in fact, afterwards a man driving by had complimented me for it, and wondered where I bought it, as he mentioned he should get one some time. Well, I told him I found it off of eBay. Not with this tiny incarnation of the beard.
During the time it was longer, I got Amish, Abe Lincoln (even George Washington from kids), invitations to re-enactments, Osama, etc. This is me at about 3/4 of my max.
