I remember the 87 as regular and the 90 from duty free.
Having enjoyed a lot of the older JD I switched to Wild Turkey 101 when JD reduced to 80rpm. If I remember right I didn’t have a single glass of JD since that time. Think I’ll try one of those single barrels occasionally, 100 proof.

80 proof #7 for me last night. And tonight. I appreciate the fact that I can have a few if the need arises (like last night after a 14 hour day) and still feel fine the next morning. I can enjoy the higher proofs on the weekend when I have the luxury of unwinding a little looser.

Being an old sack meanwhile I usually don’t drink booze anymore if I’ll have to work next day, maybe once or twice a year...:)

Probably the best practice...but at the end of some days the back just hurts too bad to go to bed sober. The key, I've found, is knowing where the line is and taking care not to cross it. Not too often, anyway.

Starting in on one (or probably more) beers before the big game. This time it's Piney River Brewing Company's "Mexican Villa Flying Ace Lager".

Mexican Villa is a long time local favorite restaurant (since 1962). If you want authentic Mexican ... this is not the place. They have their own twist on things and it has long been enjoyed regardless of the lack of being truly "Mexican". For as long as I can remember the beer that was available was Budweiser in long neck bottle. A couple of years ago they reached out to Piney River Brewing in Bucyrus, Missouri for a locally brewed house-branded lager. It is much better than Bud.

The restaurant that was in the current (oldest of three locations) starting selling "Mexican" food in 1951 and the tradition carries on today.
