What dances are they dancing here?

This is stretching a bit from the Golden Era, but...This is a home movie of mine from 1961 or 1962. As it's silent, I was hoping some of our more knowledgeable people could fill me in on what dances they're dancing here--maybe to help determine what kind of music was on the record player.

Ha! What a hoot of a home movie. Well, there's a little bit of the Twist there. And the gal in blue is doing maybe the Hitchhiker. And the dad and little girl seem to be doing the my dad is such a spas he's making me do this ridiculous excuse for a dance. At least I think that's what it is.
