Retro, that post brought back a lot of memories of me as a child sitting with my grandmother on Saturday nights watching Lawrence Welk. She loved that show and I loved her. Thanks.

Yup, that's the one. Song was from "Lew Leslie's Blackbirds of 1934," an all-black stage musical that flopped in the winter of 1933, but it had a really wonderful score, with "Hundred Years" one of the best songs featured. The Ethel Waters recording on Columbia is really gorgeous too, as is Lee Wiley's version on Brunswick with the Casa Loma Orchestra.
