George Harrison’s spirituality really came through in his music. “Stuck Inside a Cloud" off of his last album is a good example of this. He also did a pretty nice version of “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea” on it, complete with ukulele and tuba.

The “All Things Must Pass” album is as good today as it ever was. I could list great songs from it, but I’d be listing 7 or 8.

I agree. Here is a composition written by Harrison and covered by Yusuf Islam, formerly Cat Stevens, entitled "The Day The World Gets Round" from "Living in the Material World" recorded in 1973 by Harrison.

Also on the album was the immensely popular:

Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)

Yeah GH was awesome. Speaking of Cat Stevens and covers, I wish that they would release the Elvis Costello version of "Sitting" already.

I've been listening to this since it seems like forever.

The 80's were crappy, but it's nice when one of the excesses of the time meant a full sax section, which Billy's band always had (not that I consider horns an excess, anything but). When this was done, I clicked on the Michael Buble cover. Just horrible. He destroys another one, lol.

Often overlooked are Ondrej Havelka's recordings in the Czech language. This one is my favorite.

(Alone With A Girl In The Rain)

The whisper of the rain echoes
It echoes still in my soul
It rains all around me
And I don't know where to go
I walk with my girl in the rain
I walk and my head's delirious
The world is gray and I hesitate in my heart
Why does everything revolve around the eyes of my girl?
Why does love enter though you don't want it?
Alone with a girl in the rain
Alone and my head's delirious
Raindrops caress my face
The cold wind blows
And I don't know where to go

Screwy, bally hooey Hollywood
The Adventures of Philip Marlowe, the first show, starring Van Heflin. Sound quality muddy, but it was an adaptation of Red Wind.

Edit: Wow, post number one thousand. This place definately has something going for it, to keep me coming back...

I couldn't agree more! :eusa_clap

Cat Stevens has been mentioned too, and i must say some (not all) of his music/lyrics are so very nice! :D like this song that somebody sent me a long time ago.
I can't get enough of this what's wrong with me...

The Moment I Saw You (1933)
Another one of my favorite songs.

Do you recollect the day I fell for you?
It was all as sudden as could be
Something told me I'd do very well for you
And you'd do very very well for me

The moment I saw you I said to myself
You're too nice a baby to leave on the shelf
Your neatness! Your sweetness! Your two eyes of blue!
Bewitched me completely and I fell for you

The moment I saw you. The fur coat you wore
The diamonds! Your perfume! I knew more and more
That you were the girl I was meant to adore
I knew it the moment I saw you

Somehow I can't find words that seem to me
Good enough to tell you what you're worth
Yes, I realize how much you mean to me
Believe me, you're the sweetest thing on earth

The moment I saw you, you gave me a glance
I followed behind you, my brain in a trance.
I felt so excited because I could see
That heaven was sending an angel to me

The moment I saw you, the girl of my choice
Your footman! The chauffeur! It made me rejoice
I may like Minervas but you're my Rolls Royce
I knew it the moment I saw you
