Wesco Harness Boot help...

So I found these GREAT Wesco Harness Boots used on eBay. As with all eBay auctions, you have to take condition stated with a grain of salt, and often the seller has scrounged them up at a thrift store or tag sale. I just liked the extra cinch and strap at the top, as it makes these Harness boots just a bit more bad ***! Plus, they looked to be in really nice shape as well. They came today, and low and behold they fits really well and are actually in quite nice condition. I do have a custom order for these (minus the top strap) at Stompers boots in the que, but for 350.00 I could not pass them up. The only issue I have is that the boots appear to have a coating of scuff cover on them, which is dry and leaves a dusty layer on the fingers when rubbed. Any suggestions for removal? I whiped them down with a damp cloth and a lot of it has come off (everything looks great underneath) but i would like to just clean them and be done. Any help would be loved forever!!!

It’s not wax? Often waxy leathers develop a coating when left to sit—that leaches out of the leather. If it’s that, you should be able to buff it away with a dry cloth.

stompersboots selling them for $350.00 is a steal! they are $673.00 now but they didn't have my size at this time last year so i ordered mine from Wesco directly, took a good 12 months.

My harness boots are their 11 inches heavy black oiled cowhide and when it came in have that same black dusty greasy feel... i just walked the job site a few time and climb in and out of dugout, the sand we used to level the ground for plumbing conduits rubs alot of the black finishing on the leather heel/sole off so now its brownish black now after a week and the greasy black dust kinda still there, i still see black pigment when wiping them with a damp cloth.

New vs Old- 1 week of 10 hours work days.... my fav pair right now! (have too many engineers and these are a welcome changed lol)

How is yours looking now a day? do you still have it?
