Were men allowed to faint in the Golden Era?

THIS is the only acceptable moment to faint in front of others. It almost happened to me once.

Passing out from pain while engaged in some sort of manly activity is also acceptable.

Right! (See page 2 of this thread.)

Re: the picture above, I've heard that people tend to fall forward when they faint, not backward. I fainted on the sidewalk once a few minutes after I gave blood. I don't remember which way I fell, but somebody said I rolled.

Alan, I do hope all came out well and you now know what you are dealing with. I stay borderline anemic and recently diagnosed as totally lacking Vitamin D. I am taking no kidding 50,000 at a time. I thought I had fibro and was tired all the time.
Thank you everyone who has shown concern for my welfare, it's very nice :). The receptionist at the doctor was able to tell me that my Hepititis A, B and C counts were OK and my red blood cell count was OK but was unable to tell me the result of my fifth count as she was not "medically qualified" to tell me. Therefore I can assume that something is wrong with me but I don't yet know what, I hope to see tomorrow . However, I am feeling better as my exams are over so I am able to get a proper amount of sleep (I spent the past six months being both a day and a night person).

I have the final result today. My liver function test was noticably high (40 showns signs of jaundice and I had 90) so I had to have another blood test but fortunately managed to remain concious this time though it was hard to stay that way walking home.

Thank you again for all the kind words.
