That 1930s style is still available in that shape from Edward Green. It is called the Cadogan style and a pair of MTO was sold not long ago by Leffot in NYC.

You guys with your beautiful specs. I just keep plugging along with my VWs while the rest of you are flying by in your XKRs. These are some vintage Walk Overs. Looks like they were actually "walked" only once or twice.

Here is a pair of Hanan's Hurdlers. This is the first pair of these I've had. I know the company, founded by a fine Irishman in 1841, produced shoes in Brooklyn. The mesh in these is interesting, as is the fit, which is rather wide (read "D") for the time.

Wonderful but like a modern UK type last. Very different to any of the usual ventilated spectator suspects. The meshing on the heel counter gives total ventilation. Great score.
