Many super short jackets in those old photos. You can't really find anyone wearing a jacket as short as this nowadays. They look so cool.

I like that Monitor, I even gave up a perfectly broken in Vanson Comet just due to the fact that it did not come close to the top of my belt. Just seemed a little too odd wearing it. :eek:

I've given up on a few jackets for the same reason and just 'cause I wasn't sure what people gonna thing. But I wish I didn't. I really prefer the look.

1948 Operation Vittles (the Berlin Aitlift); Navy Transport Squadron 6 and 8 actively participate. Here Naval aviators sport an M-69F Navy Transport Coat (probably the most impressive flight jacket/coat ever issued in the U.S.), an M-422a (or early G-1) and an M-445 sheepskin flight jacket. Great collection of Navy flight gear!
