Wait what just happened? Was this the same brown jacket on the top of the page? You dyed it black/seal too? As much as I like brown jackets I think this one looks a lot nicer in seal/black now.

It does look better but no, that’s just the wet leather and bad light. Still the same generic 50’s russet brown.

Found this interesting connection between these two jackets, one Cow, one Goat. The light colored jacket is mine. I found this California Mfg. jacket with the same label related to a tannery.

Two beauties from the Olden Days One Cow, one Goat. Great examples of half-belt innovation.

The Goatskin jacket has no other label.

Interesting-Genuine Leather-seems more common on generic jackets

Montgomery Ward labels are my favorties, they had many variations.

I have seen this similar tag on a Block jacket. These jackets could well have been made by Block in San Francisco. Has the look of a bay area jackets by Ralphs-Pugh too.

Taubers Goatskin-the only one I have seen. I've seen Deerskin, Horsehide, Cowhide Taubers.

This jacket is awesome, it has a lot of the features as seen on the FW Mulholland and ELMC Highway Star. The owner was kind enough to share some detailed pics. Note the armpit gussets, I don't think I've ever seen them before on a vintage jacket. Zipper looks to be a 40s replacement.

@Marc mndt underarm footballs like that were used by Leathertogs for sure. Trying to think of who else. My All-Weather police jacket has slightly different constructed versions of them. Very nice feature.
