Very nice! For those that would like to collect photos of cars or other things from the web, I suggest using a program like the free Webshots at www.webshots.com that allows you to organized your collections for screensavers, wallpaper with all sorts of features. I've used it for years. Cars are the bulk of my collections. I probably have about 3,000 images found all over the web and uploaded.

My ultimate objective is to get a 1939 or 1940 Ford pickup, or better yet, a sedan delivery. That way I can haul my gear to and from living history events in style!

For me, I am saving up my pennies for my Cadillac LaSalle Coupe.

Although I am currently in negotiations for a 1941 Buick. That will have to wait for the snow to melt, of course.

Car dreams

I'm hoping for a Model A ford or similiar model from the early 30's... This will fit perfectly into our gangland era reenacting.... I would also love to find a restoreable truck and put together a "Patty Wagon"... and use that for living history displays for prohibition and such...

However... Since we have the EAA event here in Kenosha WI... I also wouldn't mind an old Biplane either!!

Hey Twitch! Think you could share some pics or start a car pics thread with good examples of period makes and models???

The very thought of a 1941 Buick makes my heart go thump thump.
Mr "H", in Ireland has a gorgeous one. . . . (Looked for the thread but couldn't find it.)

Lord Peter's car.

Does anyone remember the car that Lord Peter Wimsey (Ian Charmichael) drove? Now that's a nifty ride.

Kilroy I love 40 Ford coupes and sedans but they and the trucks are in the stratosphere value-wise. They got real popular long ago and to find one in not too bad of condition at 20 grand is tough. Sedan deliverys are rarer hence high value, at least in California, so expect to pay top dollar.

The 41 LaSalle and sub-models for example are going to be $20,000 minimum for a decent one. They had a flathead V-8. A 41 Buick would be more in the 15 grand area for a nice one.

Just be patient and look for the car you want. I might be findable at a good price in some part of the country.;)
