I had a firenze jacket for a little while and i thought it felt too thin, almost like a toy, but im not in texas either. Are you looking for a riding jacket or casual wear?

I ride but most of the year its over 80 degrees here so I thought I might try something thinner

I own both, and they feel about the same weight wise for me. Firenze has a pebbled texture, while comp weight is smooth (and more shiny)

I have an arrow and maverick both in firenze. The maverick is stiffer than the arrow. Both are plenty heavy. I'm in San Antonio. From a functional standpoint, firenze is really the best for street riding. Anything heavier and mobility becomes more difficult. Vanity-wise, competition wins.

I have a Vanson Comet in firenze.
I wear it on the motorcycle occasionally in Aussie summer months.
Never did smell "as nice" as my Aero Highwayman or Schott 641 HH cafe.
Did not smell bad, just not as intoxicating as those other 2 !

Well Sir the complete package is important in any discerning gentleman's accoutrements.
The aroma is of prime importance more so when yer wafting aboot the hoose coz ye canae get oot fur the weather !
Not such a problem for Australian leather cognoscenti !
