USN M-421A Summer Flight Jacket

Haven’t seen this jacket posted here much, so I wanted to share mine. I was looking for a lightweight cotton jacket with a vintage/heritage feel and found this one. Bronson also offers original boxy pattern repro, this one definitely has a more modern cut. Got this from china for 600 yuan plus shipping. Beautiful color and great texture. Made from 100% cotton twill. Ideal zippers. Unlined.

Size 42:

Shoulders : ~19.25"
Chest ~23"
Sleeves: ~25"
Lenght: ~25.5"

It is quite unlikely that the cotton fabric is "Pre-Shrunk", so user needs to take care to prevent shrinkage when laundering. It would not be amiss to order-up a size just-in-case.

Photos of Bronson below, for comparison. Before and after zipper upgrades and patching. Not sure that I'd call the fit boxy though. IMO, the pattern looks more trim than the Ito House version. As @raf mentioned above, these will shrink approximately a half to one full chest size when washed warm and machine dried. No shrinkage when washed cold and line dried.
