So many really great jackets being moved on because they aren't "perfect". I'm done with looking for perfect and am more than happy now with "just" a great jacket that fits well.

Dunno... some of us have amassed some incredible jackets which never get out the door..because they just don't fit!

My Legendary Stallion horsehide has never been worn - the perils of ordering online. I thought it would be a great jacket to wear over motorcycle armour, so deliberately got the size bigger. It fits...but only with the armour. Then it is just so shiny and new looking that it's asking for a bust up on the road (why bother..I have plenty of other jackets for that reason )

Heard of the American company 'Orchard'? They seem to have made some incredibly heavy duty thick buffalo hide jackets. I got one somewhere which even had a gorgeous fluffy detachable fleece. It's such a great design and fit and just never got around to wearing that one either - culturally it looks out of place here, although maybe if i still had a Harley it wouldn't be so out of place.

A great jacket that fits well...fits between 'worn lots' and before 'worn out'!

It was supposed to be vtg Schott inspired but I effed up the length, as always. If I had the money, I'd order the exact same one, only 3 inches longer.

It looks great though!

Vintage Schott fits me better than modern Schott. My first was a steerhide size 42 which fits perfect. Bought one in black ...and it's size 42, and it's way too big. I had it for sale somewhere here sometime ago but I'm not trying very hard since it's such a great naked cowhide - much thicker than the modern 2010+ Schott leather source. Rather confused by this, I got a size 38" in 2014 which is a way better cut, but the leather is so much thinner that it fits best with a jumper under.

I thought I'd learn from the first mistake but all I have learnt, is that no one jacket will fit summer and winter at the same time, which is why it's important to have more than one jacket.

The last time I walked into a shop to try on a leather jacket was when Sam Walker was open in London. Great shop and jacket sizing wasn't a problem. Now that it's easier to buy online, I'm making more ordering mistakes!

I have owned a gazillion leather jackets, mostly A-2's. Cut back to just under 20 leathers now. I have let many go with no regrets accept for one (or two or three). An Eastman house A-2 that I purchased cheaply (many years ago) used that had GREAT wear on it. One of the nicest ELC's I had ever come across. Sold it for what I paid for it. My other regret was selling an Eastman A-1 in cape but I ended up replacing it with the same so I am happy. Oh, I picked up a beautiful Aero Scotland A-2 that had some of the nicest leather I have ever seen, probably a custom order at some point. My A-2 snobbishness got the better of me and I sold it. In hindsight, should have held on to it. I owned an original A-2 with great artwork on it and sometimes think I should have kept it but wearing a relic like that was never comfortable for me so it didn't get worn enough and I just didn't want it hanging in my closet never seeing the light of day.
