To all the jackets you've loved before (that traveled in and out your door)

I also miss that Walter Dyer CR I had... Man, that was a nice jacket. Also the heaviest I've seen. I'm surprised WD doesn't get more love.

If you are worried about being able to move have you thought about an action back in it?
I have and that might be just the thing. I love the full AB but it does have an impact on the front profile. I dunno man. I have to get this one just right. It has to be my last!

It was. Sadly as I peruse my old photos I'm beginning to realize that my quest for a "perfect" leather jacket actually resulted in letting many that were just that go!

I know exactly what you mean. That's why I'm not letting any of them go again. Well, at least not the CR's. There always comes a day I feel like wearing a particular one I've gotten rid off... Like the Walter Dyer. But that jacket was bringing up some bad memories for me... And good ones but bad ones, too.

That was my super cool and super bolero, custom Aero Cafe Racer...

It was supposed to be vtg Schott inspired but I effed up the length, as always. If I had the money, I'd order the exact same one, only 3 inches longer.
I love the cat eye chest zips. Man that's a nice one! I've heard of Walter Dryer and they do pop up on eBay occasionally. Never owned one but always thought they looked good. Leather looks top tier too.

I've seen Walter Dyer jackets pop up in all sorts of leather, but the one I had was literally twice the Aero's FQHH. It even made Vanson appear lightweight. I've tried to take a photo of it but my camera was crap back then...

I remember thinking how Stu's constantly boasting up with his 4oz HH, while this jacket was at least 6 or 7.

Super functional and quality jackets.

I have said that to myself after selling the Walter Dyer. Because soon I realized I won't find anything like it so... What's the point of chasing down that perfect jacket anyway? The WD was super heavy, super thick, fit was great, it was warm, functional, armour in itself & just perfect on a motorcycle... And all the time I had it, I wanted a two chest pockets instead of sidewarmers and what for? Nobody even uses chest pockets!

So many really great jackets being moved on because they aren't "perfect". I'm done with looking for perfect and am more than happy now with "just" a great jacket that fits well.
That's just it. An enlightenment of sorts and I agree 100%. Fit is so important and that can be dialed in. When you find the pattern you really dig and get the fit right it's a nirvana of sorts. I've always picked apart my jackets, often times finding a flaw that truly wasn't even there and continued on that elusive quest. It's funny though, when I look back at stuff I passed along, from my current perspective, yeah I want to kick myself in the ass. Really. Hard.

I have to agree Tony! I've found the 30's HB and the Café Racer work the best for me on a daily wear basis. I also like the buco/Schott Perfecto type jacket very comfortable and nice but not usually something I'll wear to work. There are so many variations on all of these, it's bewildering at times!
