I bought a pair of these shoes many years after they were the coolest thing in town ('80) and they are still a very good pair of shoes albeit made in Vietnam.

The quality is outstanding and they are very comfortable. Especially in situations where tying shoelaces isn't very practical.


They go well with many casual clothing without being too casual ( as the Timberland boots may be).

I don't quite understand why several sources deem. these shoes " uncool" and frankly speaking I don't really care too much.

I get a lot of compliments about the shoes , especially from people who remember them from back in the day

I started wearing these shoes back in the mid 70s. I think we called them boat shoes. I had a boat and did a lot of sailing on a friend's boat. The soles would give decent grip on the deck until the soles had a lot of wear and got slick. Still wear them.
