Are you located in Europe or America? My advice to you is, if you want quality without overpaying for it, it would be best if were to go with a local maker. US made jacket if you're in America or something from Europe if you're within the EU.

In regard to the 2019 (and earlier) consensus about the Schott vs. Aero quality, @Marc mndt is right on the money. Anything from high end Schott line is equal to Aero and the tailored fit offered by many makers has always, in my opinion, been overstated.

I’m located in the US. And you’re right, it’s usually cheaper to buy locally, and that’s why I looked into Schott at first. But then I found out about Thurston Bros in Seattle, looked through their offerings, and really like the Aero jackets. Since they were similar pricing to Schott’s, I started comparing and started going down the rabbit hole.

And thanks for clarification about Schott’s high end brands, I just didn’t know how to identify which ones were high end, but it seems like anything with Perfecto is high end.

Schott vs Aero, pros and cons, you'd really have to go jacket by jacket and leather by leather. Most Schotts are in the 800-1100 range. Most Aeros are in the 1000-1300 range.

What's nice about Schott is it's pretty easy to find at a cheaper price and Ebay is full of ones that were worn twice and now for sale at a 50% discount pretty much.

I've owned maybe a dozen of them from different eras from the 60s to made in 2020. I found all to be very high quality, well made, and all of them comfortable. The main issue I have is I'm in between their typical Medium and Large size and in between their 40-42 zone for some reason on a lot of styles. Especial with the medium to large, it really jumps in ptp, waist, etc. Any marked as a "slim" cut or Japanese market fit better and sizing seems to be more proportional. I was in their Los Angeles store about 2 months ago and they've got several offerings that seem to fit a little better. That new horsehide trucker they have is unreal and I really liked the 520 (I think that was it). The Per28 and Per70 are a amazing. And of course 613SH is just the dogs danglies to steal a phrase I've seen here before LOL.

100 naked series leather is by far my favorite standard offering. Probably not good for motorcycle riding, but is a perfect combo of weight, drape, texture, look.

A lot of their collabs and especially their anniversary or special edition jackets will feature a so called "higher end" leather. A lot of these are fabulous and bang for buck probably best you'll find.

Perfecto label from what I understand is reserved for jackets that have a top hide. But Schott makes things confusing because some jackets are labeled Per in style number, some are labeled with a P before the model number and some just have Perfecto in the size/brand tag. In general, schott could do a better job of explaining the fit of the jackets better and the differences in the similar styles. But some Googling can help a lot.

Yes, their style naming convention is very confusing lol. That’s why I did some googling and ultimately made an account here to ask you fine folks. Like I would love to look into their special editions, anniversary editions, etc - I just don’t know which ones they are lol.

I did look on eBay and a few other marketplace websites for a used P213 Raven (the specific one that I want) but didn’t have much luck. There was one on eBay, but it’s not my size. If I was able to find a bargain on the P213 in my size, I’d probably buy it AND an Aero and not feel bad about it. Are there any other websites with used Schott’s that you can suggest?

I remember one being for sale here not too long ago. There's also the Allen Edmonds collab which I think is basically the p213 but maybe with different lining or some subtle difference.

It looks good open and I think the sleeves would be too long one size bigger. How does it feel when zipped? It does look a little snug, but if it feels fine then I'd keep it.

the fit I think fits you well, looks snug but it is zip-able so it fits, i think this jacket since it has no belt etc would benefit from dual zip to unzip a bit from the bottom up when you wear chunkier belt.

It is snug when zipped, but not at all restricting. I still have full range of movement. I was afraid that the sleeves and length may be too long if I go up to a small, so I’m glad you think so too. Thanks!

Yeah, I can definitely zip it up without issues and still have full range of motion. The jacket is supposed to be a slim fit, so I figured it’s supposed to look snug, but it’s good to get feedback. Thank you.

If it doesn't feel restrictive, then it is a good fit. It is a slim fit jacket, and that is the way it is supposed to fit. I wouldn't want the sleeves any longer, but they are fine at that length. Just my 2 ¢ worth.

My weight is pretty stable - I’ve been the same size/weight for the last 7 years, and I’m 33. I don’t plan on changing anything (hope it stays that way lol). Despite how snug the jacket looks though, I was able to comfortably fit a hoodie underneath it the other day.

My weight is pretty stable - I’ve been the same size/weight for the last 7 years, and I’m 33. I don’t plan on changing anything (hope it stays that way lol). Despite how snug the jacket looks though, I was able to comfortably fit a hoodie underneath it the other day.

I got the size chart from Schott, and the body length is actually the same between the XS and small. The sleeve length is just marginally longer on the small (25 1/4 vs 25 5/8). However, the cross shoulder is an inch wider on the small…
